Movers in Loures

Loures covers a wide area north of the city, mixing apartment neighbourhoods with houses and semi-rural stretches — so no two moves here look alike.

What moving in Loures actually involves

Because the municipality is so varied, the survey matters more than usual. A flat in the built-up part is a routine job; a house at the end of a country lane is a different plan entirely. We look at the address on the map during the call and quote what it actually is.

One name covering three different countries

Loures is a large municipality and the word tells you almost nothing about the job. There is the dense urban belt closest to Lisbon — Sacavém, Camarate, Moscavide — which behaves like Amadora: blocks, lifts, tight parking. There is the town of Loures itself, lower and calmer. And there is the agricultural north, where an address can mean a house with land, a gate, a gravel track and no neighbours for a hundred metres.

Those three are priced differently and planned differently, and nothing on a map tells them apart reliably. This is the area where the video survey earns its keep most obviously.

In the rural part, expect the volume to be larger than the room count suggests. Houses with land accumulate: tools, garden furniture, things in an outbuilding that have not moved in a decade. Walk us through the outside as well.

Plan the last stretch, not the drive

Twenty to thirty-five minutes from central Lisbon depending which Loures you mean. The road is rarely the problem. What needs planning is the final approach: whether the van can turn, whether the gate is wide enough, whether there is anywhere to stand that is not somebody's only access.

For houses with a track rather than a road, the question is surface as much as width. A loaded 3.5-tonne van on wet gravel with a slope is a genuinely bad idea, and we would rather park at the top and carry than get stuck at the bottom. If your access looks like that, show it to us in the rain if you can.

Loures sets its own rules for occupying the street, separate from Lisbon's. We have not verified the notice period here, so where a reserved space is needed we check the current requirement for your address.

Why two Loures quotes can differ by half

Because they are different jobs wearing the same postcode. A flat with a lift in Sacavém is at the cheap end of everything we do. A house with a garden and an outbuilding at the north end is a full day, several trips and often a third person.

The distance component runs 20 to 40 € from central Lisbon for the near part and more for the far north, agreed in advance either way. The rest is volume and access, exactly as everywhere — it is just that here the range within one municipality is wider than anywhere else we work.

Questions about moving in Loures

We're in a house with a yard, not a flat. Is that different?
Usually easier — ground level and space to park beat a fourth floor without a lift every time. Volume tends to be higher, so we plan the trips accordingly.
Do you cover the whole municipality?
Yes, the built-up areas and the outlying ones. The distance component changes with how far out you are, and you see it before booking.
