Seixal is on the south bank, and like Almada its logistics are decided by the crossing — bridge or the long way round, depending on the hour.
We plan south-bank moves around the bridge, not against it. Crossing at the wrong time can cost an hour each way, so Seixal jobs get early starts. Since the price is fixed and not hourly, that planning is our responsibility and traffic never reaches your invoice.
Seixal was largely built after Almada and it shows in the useful ways. Flats tend to be later, doorways are standard width, lifts are common, and the buildings sit with space around them rather than pressed against a street. Loading here is closer to Parque das Nações than to anything in the old city.
The older river settlements — Seixal itself, Amora, Arrentela — keep small streets and lower buildings, and a house there is a different job from a flat in the newer estates. Same municipality, and the gap between the two is wide enough that we always want to see the approach.
Ground-floor flats with a small yard or garage are much more common here than in Lisbon. That is easy carrying and awkward volume: garden furniture, tools, a bicycle nobody mentioned. Show us the outside as well as the inside.
Seixal is the furthest of the south-bank areas we cover, and counter-intuitively it is frequently the smoother job. The crossing is the same problem as for Almada, but once you are past it the roads are wider, the buildings are newer and the van gets close to the door.
We plan the crossing the same way: early start, avoid the peak, and if a second trip is needed it goes in the middle of the day. On the way back, the afternoon build-up towards Lisbon is the one to watch rather than the morning one.
Parking regulations here are the municipality's own and differ from Lisbon's. We have not verified the notice period for Seixal, so where a reserved space is genuinely needed we check the current requirement rather than assume the Lisbon rule applies.
The distance component is the same order as Almada — around 45 to 75 € from central Lisbon including tolls, agreed in advance. What often surprises people is that the move itself can come out cheaper than the equivalent inside Lisbon, because lifts and vehicle access remove the expensive parts.
For a three-bedroom flat with a lift, Seixal can land below what the same furniture would cost in Graça even after the crossing is added. That is not a sales line, it is arithmetic: stairs and carry distance cost more than motorway does.
